10 Beautiful Women Who Are Way More Intelligent Than You
Fri Jul 14, 2006
I never intended to imply that beauty and brains cannot exist at the same time, which they certainly can, and often do. I think that what the article stresses is good, but the language is a bit crude and objectifying at times.
10 Beautiful Women Who Are Way More Intelligent Than You
Fri Jul 14, 2006
As happy as I am with men embracing women's intelligence, I would have to say that the article was still written in sexist overtones.
The Dumbledore Paradox
Tue Jun 27, 2006
I think that a lot of people give Rowling flak about her writing style, but if you remember, she started out writing children's books. The fact that every age group also enjoys her books is a bonus. That said, I like how her books grow up with the readers.
The Dumbledore Paradox
Tue Jun 27, 2006
I can understand why you are confused, as was I. However, I remember Dumbledore telling Harry earlier in the book that he doesn't make mistakes very often, but whenever he does, they are big ones.

Mon Jun 26, 2006

The Economics of Abortion
Sun May 7, 2006
I don't agree with everything you say, but the thing that always gets me about abortion debates is the issue of rape. Allowing abortions to women who were raped sounds like an excellent idea.
More Professors Ban Laptops in Class
Wed May 3, 2006
I'm a junior, soon to be a senior in college and for half of my time at William and Mary I took notes the normal way, with a pen and paper. For the other half, I've been taking my 12 inch powerbook with me to class.
Apple's new ads declare superiority
Tue May 2, 2006
@ kevinb66: As far as diversity for the Mac user group goes, I would like to inform you that my mother uses a mac, and she is as far from steve jobs as you can get. Not only does she use a mac, but she tries to teach her friends what mac is all about- simplicity.
